Yasaka Koshin-do
An ultra-popular power spot that’s perfect for Instagram (*’▽’)!
Don’t miss the three wise monkeys carved above the gate (“see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil”). Inside, you can choose your favorite color kukurizaru (colorful charms representing desires) and hang them with your wishes.
Taking photos surrounded by the vividly colored kukurizaru is guaranteed to look amazing ( ..)φ

Hokan-ji Temple (Yasaka Pagoda) – 5 min
Standing right in front of Yasaka Koshin-do is the iconic Yasaka Pagoda — a true symbol of Higashiyama.
No matter where you snap a photo, the scenery looks stunning. With plenty of shops nearby, you can grab food or drinks and capture shots with the pagoda as your backdrop for perfect Kyoto vibes!

Ninen-zaka & Sannen-zaka – 60 min
These famous slopes are lined with eateries and souvenir shops.
Try the croquettes at Kirakuan — they’re perfect for eating on the go and surprisingly photogenic! (Yes, croquettes can be an Instagram hit!)
On Sannen-zaka, don’t miss Okutan, Kyoto’s oldest tofu restaurant, with a beautiful 600-tsubo (approx. 2,000m²) garden. Enjoy handmade tofu dishes while gazing at the scenery for a truly Kyoto-style experience. Their tofu buns are also highly recommended!
Or, stop by Uemura near the stairs to Kiyomizu-zaka for a hearty lunch.

Famous for love blessings, Jishu Shrine and the sweeping views from Kiyomizu-dera are absolute highlights.
There are so many photo-worthy spots you’ll want to watch your phone’s storage space!

Yasui Konpiragu Shrine – 30 min
Known as the “severing bad ties and bringing good ones” shrine, it’s said to help not only with relationships but also with breaking habits like smoking or drinking.
At the Enkiri-Enmusubi Stone Monument, write your wish on a paper talisman, crawl through the hole from front to back, and cut ties with misfortune while inviting good fortune.
